Default EMS for 97 Accord?

I've got a customer with an AUTOMATIC 97 Accord with with H22 engine and he wants to run a chipped ECU. The problem is that the TCU is integrated within the OBD2A ECU so if he converts to OBD1 with a chipped ECU, he has no way of controlling the tranny right? The only other option I can think of is to run and OBD1 AUTO harness and use a TCU along with a chipped ECU.

Opinions?
