Default LMA's for B Series Vtec - S.o.S.

I know there are tons of threads out there and one in particular that i was following (now dead thread) mentioned Science of Speed.

Just wanted to let everyone out there know ScienceofSpeed now has a listing specifically for the B Series Vtec head. Now there wont be the confusion of spring length/ratios. This looks to be a specifically designed piece for the B Series vtec heads.

Thought i would share the find because it sure in the hell beats buying them for $30+ from the dealer

yah people were mentioning that you could use H22 and a hardened washer. NSX ones but no one really knew if it was the exact same spring as the new replacement for the plungers. SoS made these after people kept asking for 8 vs 12.

i always wondered if i put in a spacer instead of the spring would it always be in vtec? like vtec killer for k20a3.

i mean in theory it should be in vtec at all time with a spacer in there instead of spring right?

not quite sir. to have vtec always "locked" or killed is an entirely different setup than just putting a spacer in where the LMA goes. The LMA is what stops the rocker from just dropping and/or flopping around not responsible for engaging vtec.

Google how vtec works, watch video. The sideways pins between rocker arms lock in vtec, then center vtec rocker is in charge. Btw, please don't assume always in vtec is a good thing! Why would you want 12mm+ lift @ idle? I'm assuming the sound if nothing else.

if it stops the rocker from engaging the vtec portion of the cam and i put a solid spacer in there it should always be in vtec right?

what setup would i need to lock vtec? i have seen the PG rocker arms

You will lose tons of power on bottom locking vtec in, gain nothing on top because your vtec already works
