Default Strut replacement 2000 civic -- spring compressors required ????

So my rear driver shock/strut went out. The strut tower is completley
Raised and the bushings are off track .
I got the new assembly /bushings, but to be clear will I need to compress my springs or because the strut tower is extended will I be able to get away with skipping it?

You need to compress the spring. It's generally a free rental for the tool at auto parts stores.
