fake carbon fiber interior removal!
hey all just bought a civic that the previous owner put this god awful fake carbon fiber peel off stuff all over the interior. its on the radio trim, speedo trim, vents, arm rests, etc. its got to go but my question is can i peel/clean these off or should i just start looking for replacement pieces? if so what should i use to clean them so i don't ruin them? i haven't tried taking any off but the adhesive looks pretty thick..
Thanks!
Thanks!
Until you've tried you'll not know which would be easier. Pulling it off costs you nothing. Get some GooGone. Why did you buy the car if this was an issue to you?
I have to admit about a year ago I put some of that carbon fiber vinyl **** on a few interior pieces and I still regret it. I only let it stay for a week before the overall tackyness of it like 70's wallpaper got to me and I took it off. Came off easy, just like peeling a decal off. Stupidest thing I've ever done, bar none.
Peel it off, a little heat, [hair dryer or low setting on heat gun] will help if it hard to peel.
And as mentioned, Goo Gone...

Will remove just about anything from any surface in a car without damaging the material. 94
