Its hard to tell what you're asking. Please try to write complete sentences so we can understand you better.
So are you saying that you were driving along like normal the car started to loose power? And you had to downshift to get up to speed again?
Is the check engine light coming on?
Also you can use this section for 88-91 Civic/CRX's: https://honda-tech.com/forums/forumd...daysprune=&f=3

OIC, driving in 5th and loosing power will have absolutly nothing to do with the T/O bearing, [tell your friends not to quit their day jobs]
My guess is you have a fuel pressure problem, either fuel filter is clogged, [when was the last time it was changed] fuel pump is on it's way out, a problem, [common] with the PGM-FI Main Relay or possibly a wiring issue.
The other possibility is an ign., [spark] problem, both the coil and ICM can be effected by heat.
If the fuel filter is old, replace it, even if it is not the problem, it eliminates it as the problem and if old it needs to be replaced anyway.
To see if it is a fuel pressure problem you will eed to install a fuel pressure gauge that you can see when driving, so you can see what the pressure is when problem happens.
For spark, all you can do is pull the coil abd ICM ad test them, however they may still test good as they may not fail unless heated up under load.
Easy way is to install a known working coil/ICM or complete distributor, maybe borrow a friends with the same car/engine. 94

this is my first honda all i did was engine rebuild and nothing else i went from a chevy fan to a honda fan so there is a diff in size and parts and what you can do to them.
OIC, not just a short "loss of power", you had to have it towed and now even though it starts and you can get it into gear, car will not move but RPMs do go up, now that does sound like a blown clutch. 94

Good luck. Also, watch out for the "bitch pin." You'll know what I mean when you get to it. Tonight, soak everything you need to remove with wd-40 or equivalent. Things will move better for you this weekend if you do.
