How to install "RUBBER, FR. WINDSHIELD DAM"
I'm going to install my own new windshield on my 90 rex. I have all the listed trim and parts ordered in, but I don't know how install them all.
The parts in question are reference numbers 5,3 and 2.
The parts themselves just look like a bunch of thin cut foam tape, with sticky surface on just one side. Anyone have an idea exactly where and how they are installed? Pics would be a huge help. Thanks.

the foam pieces are where the inside of the glass meets the dash and the side A Pillar plastics. It is to prevent you from seeing the window glass caulking gooey stuff and also prevents fogging at the edges.
You, get my hats off, I am like you, never let a glass shop touch this, they will only gouge the paint on removal of old, and also they will not do the little foam strips, basically they cut corners.
Just clean the glass with alcohol wipe, air dry, and place them on the glass. You want them to meet and butt with the dash / pillar plastics.
on page 20-22 of CIVIC manual it says the upper dam is 12mm (.47in) from glass edge. you may want to look at CRX manual to see if there is difference. In the body section.

I tried to get number #6... but it has been replaced by the #7 part number so that's what they sent me. I'm assuming that because it doesn't have that metal strip in it I'll have to use some window weld to keep it in or something?
Yes, you will need to use window weld.
I had to use tape to hold the corners in place during the process because of the construction of the whole thing.
The rubber just did not want to sit flush against the body of the car.
#6 is a much better part as the metal clips around the window before the window installation.
#7 gets installed after the window is all in place and the rubber attempts to clip around the window when you press it into the channel far enough.

I bought #7 new and am waiting for warmer weather to install. When I got it the corners are all wavy and wont sit flush. I used a hair dryer to soften the rubber which helped a bunch but still not flap. Holding off to see if summer days will flatten it out
