I'd say wire it first. Its easier to run the wire harness around the motor while its out. Just be careful when dropping the motor, you dont want to damage any of the sensors along with the wires.

wait a minute, b17a i smell a obd1 conversion, u have alot of changes in wiring unless your using 1st gen b16a stuff, injectors resistor box, dizzy

i would go obd1, mad tuning capabilty,
