Default delsol exhaust. need some clarification

got a gsr in my del sol with gsr tri-y ebay header.
custom piping catback

i cannot figure out what do i need to do to fit everything in there.
when i had the b16 in it i installed the tri-y header and it was about 6 inches of gap inbetween.
so it was too short to run without cat and too long to run with a cat.
there also need to be a flexpipe since i dont want to crack any welds.

ive been searching for stock del sol header pictures or stock del sol B16 underbody pictures showing the cat and the placement of them.

wtf do you guys do with a gsr swap and try-y header.

im so confused right now.
and about to just weld the damn hiflow cat and a 4 inch flexpipe on teh header itself.

from the ebay pictures i dont think theres even difference in any of the knockoff tri-y headers.they all look same length.

one header i saw that i thought might give me a better space and possibly better powerband is toda replica.

anyone can recommend a place to buy it from. cheaper better. cant afford the real one any time in the future so have to settle for the cheaper one.

plus i already destroyed my tri-y so i dont think its a goo idea to buy a 700 header if im gonna put dents on it ( my driveway is very bad and i scrape every time, stock mercedes c class scrapes on it as well, im not slammed or anything either)

or if anyone could pm or post a link to a good deal on toda replica header will be much appreciated. i can work with that one better since it has more space to move the flange back(forward)

From what I have seen on these headers...they come in different lengths from their respective knock-off manufacturer's. Most people install with an adjustable test pipe. Obviously not your case. Since you want a flex pipe in between, I would measure out how much flex pipe and how much space you have for an aftermarket high-flow cat. If you decide to just weld the flex pipe and cat you have, it might end up being too long.

I have the plm standard size longtube tri-y on a b16b (same block casting as gsr so same fitment senario). I welded on a roughly 4.5" long flex pipe to the collector, and a 3 bolt flange to the flex pipe so catbacks can be direct bolt on.

thats pretty much what im trying to do is to have the flanges in factory spots so in case i switch the catback i dont have to cut and weld every time.

so theres only 2 different length of header for b series right?

the b16 is short downpipe
and b18c1/c5 and b1 are longer downpipe

I had the exact same setup. deleted the test pipe and put flex pipe in its place.

now after some research.
i dont know which route is best

a welded flexpipe and a cat right after it( its gonna be really tight fit)

a donut flange for cat so it flexes.

or a v band. (does vband give any flex at all? it doesnt look like)

or have a section of exhaust that has both flexpipe and cat connect to the header with v band and 3 hole flange connect to the catback piping?
