95 accord speed tach won't work

My speedometer isn't working on my accord. It's an aftermarket speedometer and hasn't worked since I got the car. Any ideas on fixing it?

Is it a speedometer (speed) or a tachometer (RPM)? lol My tac is currently on the fritz and I'm working to identify the problem and fix it as well.

tachometer = rpms gauge
speedometer = miles per hour gauge

My bad its the speedometer and odo that don't work. The gauge kicks off and on, works when it wants to, was this way when I bought it
