Compression too high on h23a
Hello I have an 02 accord coupe engine swapped with the h23a dohc vtec jdm motor with a stock comp ratio of 10.6:1. I was checking the compression because in turboing in the very near future. On 4 cranks the gauge reads 180psi which is pretty good. But if I keep cranking until the needle stops moving it reads 210? Is my compression super high or is the 180 the compression I should follow? Thanks for any replies.
Yeah 210 is a decent number for that engine, especially if they are all within a few psi of each other. My H23 built with the slightly longer H23A1 rods, and JDM H22 pistons only makes 230-235 on my tester, and calculators show it to be an 11.6:1 engine.

210 is good compression. . If u boost it. Just mke sure to have a good tune
My bone stock h22a4 made 300 hp on 5.5 psi on a( 50 cold / .63 hot )
full boost by 2k rpm. **** ripped.!!! only prob with turbo n high comp is timing/ detonation. The motor Lasted a while before she gave ... Make sure u have a good tune/tuner
Having 200hp / 200 tq at 2200 rpm. Lol. Imagine the feeling. Haha.
Deffinately fun.

Any way I can lower the compression or make it last longer on boost? I'm looking at bone stock 6-8 psi for a while till I can build it more. Any suggestions for making it last? Besides a good tune
