Do some window shopping at Crutchfield. All the compatible speakers are listed by car.

1.8 VTi, eh. Sounds like a UK / EDM car, probably an MB series. Might have diff speakers up front and since it's not a USDM vehicle, might not listed on Crutchfield. You'd be better off enquiring at a UK-based forum such as www.CivicLife.Net

I figured it would 6.5" all across the board, i dont see why they would have different speaker size options for 96-00 models lol, if honda did, would that be common for car makers to do that?

Pull the cover and look at it. You Don't need to pull the door panel to get to the speaker.

Chances are it's a 6.5''.

Not to the MB Civic. Looks like this (Aerodeck version):

This is not your regular USDM Civic, so, maybe not. Curious, I checked, and it's a 160mm speaker. So, yep - 6.5".

Agreed, but OP hasn't stated they are buying used.
