Default OBD1 SOHC ZC in a 93 civic dx

Hey guys new here been searching using google and can't seem to find an exact yes or no answer. I have a 93 civic dx I use for a commuter car because my Jeep is not a good commuter since it runs on 91 oct and gets 18 mpgs hwy. Anyway I swapped in a obd1 sohc non vtec zc motor about a year ago and it runs great but my timing is a couple degrees off/ below what it should be and my stock td41u dx distributor is fully advanced, is there another obd1 distributer I should use or is the timing problem somewhere else?

Your timing belt could be off a tooth
dI'd check there before I looked into distributors.

if its off by a couple degrees, then you should reset your timing
