2005 Honda CRV Idle Issue
Too keep you guys from reading too much, I have a video of the issue. The first 90 seconds will tell you all you need to see.
UPDATE: CODES P2101 and P2176 are showing. P2101 - Throttle actuator Control Motor Circuit Range/ Performance
and P2176 Throttle Actuator Control System - Idle position not learned.
If you want the details they are below. I need a priest!
Guys, I really need some ideas and hopefully someone has seen this. I have rescued an abused 2005 CRV with 120K miles. It was used on a construction site so it's been bounced up and down and rode hard. It's had maintenance done on it when needed, but was unbelievable dirty both inside and out since it was mostly ridden on dirt and gravel roads while out at BMW here in Greenville, SC.
This is how it happened, I hadn't driven the car for about 3 days, but that morning I did 2 things. I attempted to replace the transmission mount that was ripped, but gave up as I couldn't get one of the bolts to budge. I had to attempt to remove the engine air filter assembly but coulnd't get it completely off because there was a lower air hose that I couldn't figure out how to remove without possibly damaging it. I replaced and reconnected everything back and plan to have a shop do it.
So, when I finished I decided to inspect the undercarriage and noticed that OMG I must have been carrying about 500 pounds of red dirt, rock and other stuff on the bottom so I dragged the hose out and proceeded to spary the undercarriage and also part of the engine compartment. Now about the engine sparying, I didn't spay anywhere near the top or front near the radiator, throttle body, air filter. I only sprayed back towards the firwall so I could reach the suspension area with the nozzle, that was it. I know better than to douse the engine completely.
So I started the CRV and left to run an errand and got about 4 miles down the road with no issue before it started accelerating funny and the idle bouncing started. I was able to exit off the interstate but as I approached the red light it just stalled. I can start the engine as you see in the video, but it bounces between 2000 and 2500 rpm.
I have a code reader ordered so hopefully I find out what it is, but am hopeful someone here with much more experience than myself have seen this before and know the fix.
I thought it might be the Throttle Position Sensor but have since been told it might not be and the video shows what I think might be the TPS but I've been told that's the cruise control module. To me they look similar.
Anyhow, pay attention to the crazy idle that's happening. I have no idea. The fluids are all topped off and have been changed by me purchase. I've driven the car for 600 miles since purchase and it's been fine, but this was completely unexpected and no warning from the car. It just went limp.

Reading that code is going to best get you where you need to be.
My thoughts could also be a vacuum leak somewhere. maybe in your attempts to remove those other parts a vacuum hose got disconnected you didn't notice maybe a small one. Hopefully something wasn't damaged by the water hose.

if I remember this correctly, from my old '89, check your tps voltage at full throttle and at no trottle. if they are correct, you have to see the response of the tps observing the output on the scope. or you could just borrow someone's tps. Keep in mind that the position of the attachement may be very important as if you remove it, you ahve to install it exactly the same. If you don't, your car will think that at idle, it's not really at idle, i.e throttle off.
