recently got a new clutch and my tranny rebuild in the 98 hatch about 100 miles ago. exedy oem clutch and synchrotech rebuild kit with carbon synchros.

before it the rebuild 3rd and 4th went into gear so smooth and effortlessly and half the time i rechecked that i went all the way into gear. now 1-5 it feels more notchy as if before each gear was an open hole that the shifter fell into and now its a geard tranny that has to mesh gears together (feels more like a notchy mazda miata tranny than my 2 civics). not sure if that makes any sense.

im going to get under it and see if the shifter linkage / bushings are bad or move around a lot but other than that what do you think happened was it just super sloppy before the rebuild or did something go wrong inside.

 

did the hex head go in hard by the bell housing by chance?

 

wouldnt know a shop did it.
