FD suspension on DC5 type S
Hi all,
Just got my 2005 DC5 Type S and found the stock suspension too harsh for my daily drive.
Not sure if anyone had tried installing the stock suspension of Civic FD1 or 2 onto a DC5 Type S. Am hoping that it is compatible so that I can buy a set and get it installed on my DC5 Type S so that I can get a nice comfortable ride daily.
If it is possible, what are the parts I need to buy, ie just the damper or spring or both.
Hope that the experts here would be able to advise.
Thank you.
Eric

It is still too "harsh". Was driving the FD1 before changing to DC5.
Really like the comfort level of the FD suspension, therefore would like to use them on my DC5.

I love my DC5 Type S, so giving it up is not an option.
Are there any other stock suspension in Honda's line of models that fits my ride.
Comfort ride is the ultimate aim

There's no such thing as a DC5 GSR and if you're talking about a DC2/DB8 GSR then the answer is no. The suspensions are completely different. Only the 01-05 civics, 02-06 CRV and the Honda element share the same suspension design with the DC5.
i wonder... are you running everything stock or is it lowered? are the tires low profile tires? if they are, this could result in "harsher ride quality, though all these things can affect ride quality. the stock suspension on the '03-'05 civic will fit the rsx and ride fine as far as comfort comes into play. check your suspension though because not many people complain about a harsh ride quality on stock suspension. you may have an underlying problem that is going unnoticed.
Hi I got the suspension checked and indeed they are stock.
Maybe it's becos I am not used to the stiffer ride.
The 03-05 civic that you are referring to , is it es civic? If they are indeed compatible, I wouldn't mind trying to fit them onto my ride to try
