i think you want to be careful with anything not meant explicitly for brakes. I'd imagine the seals in the caliper housings would be sensitive to corossive chemicals. Stick to a good break cleaner although I'm no expert. I'm assuming you want to paint them?

yeah i want to clean them then paint them red....i guess ill go search for a caliper cleaner or something
To prep them for paint, spray them down with brake cleaner (to remove the brake dust). Then get a wire brush and rub the **** out of them. An easier alternative would be to use a brass or steel wire wheel on a 6" bench grinder ( I actually bought a 6" grinder just to do this but I figured I could always use it later. You can never have too many power tools. It has come in handy many times since). The wire wheel will get off all rust and crap. Be sure to wear a dust mask and eye protection. I usually don't but this **** will clog your nose and shoot specks of rust into your eyes if you don't. It will bring the caliper down to bare metal. Clean the calipers again with brake cleaner or a tack cloth to remove all dust and stuff. Mask off any rubber seals or holes where a bolt or pin will go through. Paint them with a good quality brake caliper paint ( made to withstand higher temps) that you can buy at your local automotive parts store. Put a couple good coats on them. If you really want to do it right, now would be a good time to rebuild your calipers to assure a long life and that they are in good working order. The rebuild kits can be bought here (fronts) http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...y5=FRONT+BRAKE for $16.37 a piece .

some painted calipers look silly. for example, a black car with green paint or yellow car with red paint. i have a black accord and red caliper paint looks kill

i agree with the paint, and dawn worked great... anycase, the luxury brands come with their calipers painted anyway, just for corrosion resistance, not only looks
