So I will be opening up my tranny to install an LS 5th gear and while I'm in other I also want to fix the grind from when i shift in to 4th gear. My question is if I should just buy the 3-4 synchro set or should I get the one that includes the sleeve. The tranny only grinds when I shift at over 1500 rpm. I just want to make sure I have everything I need when I open up my tranny and not have it sitting there waiting for parts.

 

Sleeve assembly, MS 4th, 3/4 fork if you don't want to wait on parts.

 

So you think all that might be bad.....I just don't want to spend money on parts that will not need to be replaced.

 

Can't say without the trans in front of me. You can either spend money on parts you might not need or you can wait for them to arrive if you don't order them but need to once the trans is torn down.

 

3rd and 4th synchros were done along with the sleeve. Everything else was in good shape.
