Info about Installing PCT Pistons in B16a2 block
I was confused about PCT and P30 Pistons, but I have clarified the difference in the 2.
I looked on ebay and I see these pistons are not too pricey, which is good. After going on zealautowerks, I see that these will shoot my compression insane high.
What needs to be done to install these pistons into the block that I have? Can they work on stock rods? Do I need to change the crank or anything like that?
Im just trying to understand what exactly is involved in this, as this might be my little modification to my car before I tune it finally. I never was going to do block work, but this isnt too expensive so I'm considering it.

Not sure on exact numbers. But where is says choose a piston. Click the pct, On the side it says the dome (cc) is 8.63. But thats a false number. Someone on here made a thread on compression ratio's with pct pistons. And he said that you have to insert 6.15 manually into the box on the side. That will give you a more accurate compression ratio
I just read your other thread. Should prove everyone wrong. Im a strong believer you can hit 180 whp stock bottom end. I hit 146 whp out of my 89 jdm ef9 and on a basmap, cars all stock besides tenabe exhaust. Still has cat and stock header

I have a set of pct pistons, rings, wristpins, all new oem. They are going into my motor im building on the side for my car. Im a few months away from assembling that engine, so i dont know from experience yet. But from what i read, you will use yiur crank and rods, but your going to have to get your rods milled on both sides so it will fit into your pistons. Google it up!
Im hoping to hit 195whp but my local dyno seems to like me.
I think good numbers arent always about all the mods, but good maintenance and good tuning.
My dyno guy, he says with all motor engines. Its usually the simplest overlooked things that will rob that few hp here and few hp there

Since seeing that these pistons are not very pricey, im going to go into the block and replace them and try and make it move a little bit more then it would with just the stock pistons. At the end of the day, this is a daily drive everyday car, that i might get on here and there just for fun....
Aside from the Pistons... having the rods milled... is there anything else that I need to do when I'm going inside the block... Also the rod bearings Im aware of....
What piston company you going with?
It seems that a lot of people use RS machine... I was on ebay and I saw them. Are there any other brands to look for or stay away from?
