Default Eg sedan build. 17 Young, Patient build.

Hi guys, thought i would start my build thread as money is started to come in more and i'm getting closer to some MAJOR updates on it.

Story behind the car(Please read to understand the route i'm taking)

So a little under a year ago I bought this eg sedan to DD and build on it. I chose the eg sedan because Ferio's ARE SO RARELY BUILT in my town and around and i love being different. When I bought this car I was completely stupid and went against ALL my moral's on it. It was in the dark and I had my father with me and basically he said he wanted to pay(**** why not lol was 16 at the time) and didn't check ANYTHING but how it ran. Ran strong since day one but SO MANY little things wrong with this car. Well, my father has an 06 gmc truck Lifted on thick tires and it gets TERRIBLE MPG so he drove it ALL the way up until Feb 1st this year. EVERYTHING done on the car was done by me, nobody else helped nor changed anything on the car myself. Regardless of my father beating on it and tearing this thing to pieces because he hadn't had a manual car in a long time I still took car of it. Now that my father got a Subaru Outback GIVEN TO HIM FOR FREE, the car is getting signed over in my name and ONLY ME will drive it. This car is being built SAFE BEFORE Fast/nice. I can careless about the looks if it ran like ****.

Things done so far:
New Rotor
New Rotor cap
New Distributor and cap
New Radiator
New Radiator hoses
New Thermostat
Switched to Synthetic Oil
New Cv- Joint's(In the works of changing them this week)
New Cv Boots(Same as joints)
New Brakes & pads
New Rotors(Also doing this week
Alignment and Tire's mounted(Back's grew bald FAST w/s DAD,)
New NGK V-power Spark Plugs and wires(Still need to do wires)
New Altinator
New battery
New ignition switch
Tune up
Detailed the whole car
Cleaned the IACV(Was idling rough)
Custom piping and exhaust tuck(Mechanic did this with my dad so i'm not sure on the exact measurements.

Like I said before, i'm much more about having the car run nice and enjoy the car instead of swapping it and painting it to be nice and run fast but be REALLY uncomfortable. I plan on building this car ALL THE WAY THROUGH and going all out on it unless a killer trade comes by. I was going to sell it and get an ek coupe but i really don't wanna get rid of it when i have put so much time and effort in it and now that i finally get to take care of it and be the only drive it makes it even harder. It's my ugly betty :D lol

The day I took her home

Cleaned up the Garage so I can get her out of the cold and away from thieves. They tried stealing her 4 times now.

Car started sputtering and idling rough so I have to upgrade them spark plugs (; and clean my IACV

I'll get some more pic's tomorrow and try and keep this build pretty active but I also taking my time with it and doing it right from day one. I have SO MUCH to do with this car it's ridiculous and suck's looking at it some times lol. Will be sanding and primering soon. Maybe beginning of next month! For PAINT :D

Just checked on my laptop, pc and phone there showing up for me. And I just call it ek coupe because it's the coupe version of an ek hatch and i don't care on the model. Em1, ex, dx don't matter cause it would be converted all around anyways.

And thank you, I know it's nothing pretty or awesome yet but I just want a Safe reliable car first.

I guess my phone just sucks lol. All i get is a red x. See pics on all other threads fine
Brush up on chassis codes a lil. Not making much sense. Em1 is not a model and all coupes minus si will be a ej. But whatever floats ur boat.

Will check back at work pc tomorrow. I like what ive read so far regarding safety first. Good job!

It's a 1993 lx , Also em1 is a chassis code for a 2000 si. Everyone and there brother call's them an em1. But if you insist on me calling it an 1993 Honda civic Sedan lx or Eg8.

Also of course safety first, can't stand being in a rolling death trap lol

Wait until you see the front bumper and HALF-*** LIPS FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER. I hate EVERYDAY looking at it lol

Sorry but wtf are you talking about? Never said em1 wasnt a chassis code. Simply said its not a model, si would be. Of corse they call the 99-00 si's em1...thats what they are.

Never insisted you call your car anything. Thats the only thing you got right. I sure as hell wouldnt tell you to call ur sedan an em1. All i meant by this whole fluster cluck, is coupes minus a si are EJ's

It was a retoricle question. You dont need to explain what a ek coupe is...there are none.

Sorry for going off topic...it was really simple what i previously said. Confused whats tripping you up. If you carefully read each post its kinda comical.

Interested to see pics in the morning.

OP-not that you're going to listen, but if you really want to "keep" it you'll need an alarm and at least one kill switch. Whatever you do- (I know you're not listening) don't tell all your buddies where the switch is b/c you'll regret it someday. Anyway, I'm excited to see a guy your age interested in cars. Btw, be a little more humble on H/T, please have some respect there's a lot of helpful people on here and you might get flamed!

If you've ever lived in the southwest ie:AZ, CA, TX, then yes you know Exactly how bad it is to have a Honda/Acura (theftwise). These cars we people on HT love so much have been on the top 10, maybe top 5 most stolen vehicles list for approximately the last 2 decades... "trendy" I think not. Are muscle cars a trend? They're still around too! These cars are the new "muscle" of our gen. So having an alarm is sound advice on such a high demand vehicle. Just saying

For sure has potential...I personally love 4 doors. When I first saw the pics, I was like...ouch! You have a lot of work ahead of you. Its a shame the doors and fenders had the side moldings shaved.

Whats the original color of the car?

Ewwwww 4-door

ok that is out of the way now. What are you long term plans and goals? Race it or just cruise with it? What motor will eventually go in or are you leaving it stock? Is security already handled?

I am looking forward to a long build with a nice result since you have matured nicely since you first came on this forum.

Trust me buddy, the first thing that was done on this car before i EVEN PUT GAS IN THE CAR was an alarm and a locktronic's pull out chip was installed. ALready have money put away for a Viper-2 way alarm, shatter glass sensor, tilt sensor, back up battery, clifford GPS system. Everything is almost bought and read to put it. Also, i've actually been into car's since a really young age. I was working and making a little extra cash at 10-11 with my father and cousin and Honda's have always been one of my favorites. Thank's for the advice though.

Look up Modesto , CA and you will know why I spending almost 1800-2000$ worth of alarm stuff. Modesto was #1 for automotive theft for over 15 years and the #1 Car stolen to this day is Honda's(90s-00s) lol

The minty type of green, it's like a REALLY light color of green. Almost like a metalic aztec green but lighter lol

Security, for now is pretty much handled. I have a few more thing's I need to handle but as it sits, nobody is getting to it. It's in a garage 100% of the time and I take it out once a day to the store or somewhere with my parent's to get something or dinner and i stay in the car.

I don't have much plans yet because the car was just handed to me couple week's ago(Even though i payed most for it, but dad commuted in it). But some plan's are HOPEFULLY this weekend I will be sanding it all down and bondoing and filtering all the mistakes and doing a gloss white primer(Just a flat white primer and sand it down and buff it to a gloss) then I have a buddy of mine that owns a paint shop and if i prep it my self it's only 500$(Normally 3k lol) and I will be doing a NSX blue or another blue i saw that is lighter. Engine wise, if i do decide to keep this and pull it all the way through, same thing i was going to do with an ek coupe(2000 si) that i wanted to build and do a b18c1 Type R build. Will be DD and showcased, i will drag it JUST A LITTLE BIT at event's to see what it runs but it really won't be raced or beaten on. I like to take care of my cars.

UPDATES :D Minor though..

Engine Shot for those who wanted to see, I cleaned it up some so it's a lot, A LOT cleaner than what it was before. This previous owner(s) freaking torn this car up, the paint has overspray EVERYWHERE and it's torn to pieces.

Original color, why can't it be this color Much better than the terrible rattle can lol

My ugry(ugly) rims :D Plan on polishing them for now until i get some nicer ones. As far as i know these are DS GSR rims

The ugliest interior and most uncomfortable seats ever I need to go pick up some Ls seats for the time being(Pick-n-pull saturday has 3 4doors coming out SCORE!)

GOT THEM SLICKS IN THE BACK! lmfao jk This is why you don't do 2039120 burnouts kid(My dad not me)

Type-R shift ****, i couldn't handle the gold ball style shift **** that was on it before, ugly and uncomfortable lol

My ugly dash also :D i want to do Eg9/ferio black dash and interior parts. Just some future plans.

Cleaned my headlights today! :D This turtle wax stuff is pretty damn good.

After product C;

Here's a before and after on my mom's old *** 01 intrepid that had NEVER HAD IT'S HEADLIGHTS CLEANED EVER! BIGGG DIFFERENCE

Here's the ugly *** lip i was talking about and the mesh **** they put on the bumper, i will drill out the lip tomorrow and touch up the bumper for now.

Thanks man good luck! The paint has to be delayed because my dad still treats this car like it is his so i'm just going to give him the rest of the money from when we bought it so its fully mine and put it under my mom's name so i can get co-signed.

Good luck on your build man!

Quick question about my roof. Okay so it almost seem's "Flimsy" and easy to push in. Nothing dramatic but it doesn't seem really STIFF AND STRONG(I know that sounds wrong lol) but i does seem a little unsafe? Is this common in older Honda's? Haven't really had the time to go around and check friends honda's (Around the same year) and see if it's the same. If it is would i just bondo the seem of the roof? or would i have to cut it ALL OUT and re-install a new one?

My old 96 CX was like that, my new one is not cause of a sun roof. My EVO is like that, think it is just common on most cars.

I just got my issue of Honda Tuning tonight in the mail and it is a 4 door special, some "ricey" stuff IMO but some decent stuff also.
