03 Si needs new suspension
Hey guys, Just got rid of my built srt-4 for a 03 civic hatch. The guy that looked at both of our cars said the ep3 has nearly blown shocks on the right side, it also has skunk2 springs. Now I like the ride height but obviously coming from a coil-over setup on the srt to this i was looking for options. I don't think putting factory shocks back in will be beneficial. I also dont have 800+ to drop on coils. Was looking at koni yellows but idk alot about honda related suspension. BTW this is my DD, no track or AX. Thanks in advance guys.
Best for 1.5" drop is tokico blues, cheap and quality but won't go further.
Best for more is koni yellows. Install on them isn't easy though you need to modify the stock strut housing so make sure you know what your getting into.

what about upgrading to say bilstein shocks and keeping the springs. looking for a plug and play. also heard good and bad about racelands. his is just a dd commuter
Ok a couple of things....
Junk2 springs are probably the worst springs out there aside from some no-name ebay springs. I recommend you get rid of those springs ASAP, they will only cause premature wear on whatever shocks you get.
Bilstein shocks are probably the best shocks that you can buy for the EP3 but...
They are valved for the stock spring rates. If you plan on using them with lowering springs then you will need to send them in to bilstein so they can be revalved to match whatever spring rates you are running. If you choose to not revalve them and use lowering springs then they will blow fairly quickly. Bilstein shocks are also not cheap. It's about $800 for all four shocks and I believe it's $60 to revalve each one.
Stay far, far away from racelands. You're better off buying a used DC5 Type-R suspension off of ebay.
The best option for a daily driver? RSX a-spec suspension. $650 shipped:

All you need to install them is RSX tie rod ends and the rear shock bushings will need about 3mm shaved off. There's a great DIY on ephatch on how to install them but that site has been down for a few days now

ok thanks. also I need to front mount my license plate. i see there are 2 holes in the grill but they are wider than the holes on the plate so Im guessing there was a bracket there. how can i mount it without covering up the foglight.
Although they will fit our cars, bilstein's sport/HD shocks are the same unit for non-SI civics as well (which have significantly lower spring rates)... chances are they will be under-dampened even when using stock EP3 spring rates.
Having Bilstein re-valve their shocks (even if they are new/uninstalled), will completely void their warranty.

i was reading about stock shocks and the eibach prokit. i don't need someting adjustable nor do i want a tokiko add on to shocks. just good shocks and a nice that won't blow and a nice drop.

c'mon guys, need to know where to get the bracket that goes from the 2 holes in the grill to the front plate. DOnt want to relocate because Im gonna be putting in fogs.

it raises the plate so that it sits in front of the bumper cover, leaving the grill open

It says nothing on their site about their revalving service voiding their warranty:
