1997 honda accord f22b2 its my first time replacing the head gasket and i wanted to see if anyone had any tips and things i should do that they dont explain in the servicemanuel the littlest tip would maybe make a big difference thanks
Just make sure you remove and install the bolts in a specific order. Then you have to be able to do a valve adjustment correctly, most people attempt to do them by themselves and generally make things worse. Finally make sure your timing is correct and the belt is tightened completely.
Here's the order for the head bolts.
Read this ENTIRE thread. It will help you quite a bit.

Take em off in the right criss-cross order, then replace gasket, and put the bolts on the same way you took em off. Very easy on a honda.
You may want to use a straight edge and a feeler gauge to check of the head or block top is warped. The heads tend to mushroom in the center, I don't know the speck by heart but it's a few mm I think. If it's too bad you should mill the head or block.

The manual says to do that but only 1/3 a turn at a time or you also risk warping it. He should make sure the engine is stone cold as well.

To remove the cylinder head you are going to have to remove the timing belt first. The smart thing to do would be to position the crankshaft at No. 1 cylinder Top Dead Center before you do anything. After you place your new gasket on the camshaft and crankshaft should still be at TDC (top dead center).
You will be able to tell by looking at the timing marks on the camshaft pulley and the crank pulley. I'm not exactly sure which engine you are working on but you will see the timing marks.
