Default Newest (used) addition!

Hey HT Family,

It's been a while since I actively posted on this website. I still have my 96 Accord which has treated me well after 5-7 years of ownership. The most I've had to replace on it was VC gaskets, one axle and brake pads aside from regular fluid maintenance.

My 2006 Altima was declared a total loss after my idiot cousin decided to play with his life and the lives of myself, my brother and two other cousins and sent us slamming into a utility pole. I wanted to get another car as a reliable daily and found this car through a friend.

It's an automatic 1998 Accord EX VTEC w/ 130xxx miles. Pretty good considering my current DD CD5 has 265XXX miles and counting.

This car was taken care of and I plan on changing the timing belt, accessory belts, and water pump along with every hose in the engine bay with it's silicone counterpart aside from the PS hoses. I have to make the time between working on my 300ZX but it'll get done. Any suggestions are welcome as well.

Here's pictures of the new acquisition:

Also, can anyone identify the bumper and lip? As in the make/year/etc.

I've been out of the Honda scene as far as aftermarket parts are concerned. Thanks.

Looks like it's just the OEM bumper + "Mugen" style lip.

Sorry to hear about your accident but that's a pretty clean accord you got in return. Wish you luck on everything.

Looks good! Junk the heads for OEM ones though, you got a pretty good trade Imo.

I agree with the headlights. I was thinking of changing them out (thinking). I'm not looking to through money into it as my 300ZX gets all my funds.

I'll see if I can find a set on the classifieds.

That's a beautiful car, love the body on it, with those wheels and lights, has that aggressive look to it. Shame it's not a 5-Speed.

I know. I was considering swapping it to 5SPD as I notice a slight slip in the transmission. I'll change the fluid and see if that helps it.

I'm going to be doing a 5SPD swap on my Z as well. The Z fell on my lap like a stripper and not many people can say they are the 2nd owner of a 22 year old car. Thank god for old **** people who take care of their cars.

The wheels are HRE (I'm assuming replicas) but I'll confirm it. I haven't registered the car yet since the PO signed the wrong part of the title. We are heading down together on Monday to get it done.

Thanks guys!

Make sure no one plays around with this ride. Glad you made it in one piece. I would've kicked my cousin's a$$ as soon as I'm able to get up out of the hospital if they did something stupid like that with my life and ride...

Maybe an H22 or k series swap in the near future...?

Nice ride by the way...

I paid 3k flat for it. The guy was selling it for 4k but since I know a buddy that knows him he let it go.

The car does have a hesitation at lower speeds where it looks like the car is slipping but once over 35+ mph the issue is not there. I'm positive it's not the transmission so I'll clean out the TB, swap plugs, check timing, change distributor cap and rotor, and change out the tranny fluid for safe measure. That's pretty much the only thing that's wrong with it but I'm going to park it because it's dangerous to drive the car now especially getting on the highway since the car hesitates and feels like it doesn't have power to accelerate. I will do the work myself.

As far as engine swap I seriously doubt it as I have a project car already (1990 300ZX 2+0 Non Turbo). I'm actually going to be doing a VH swap (V8) swap on the Z.

**By the way there are no CEL lights but I'm going to run the codes with my bluetooth reader later today just in case**

Could it also be due to clogged cats?

I compiled a list of preventative maintenance parts. Let me know if I'm missing something before I process my order. The PO state some maintenance items were done but he couldn't show any receipts. I trust no one but myself so I'd rather just do it again for safe measure. Not listed in the screenshot I also added the PCV valve for the "while I'm there" maintenance.

The only thing he had proof of was the oil change which had the sticker on the windshield.

Thanks in advance.

George

Here's some pictures of my wrecked Nissan Altima. My cousins were visiting from Florida and California. We decided to go to NY the first weekend they were here and have some fun. At the end of the night I wanted my brother to drive my car but my cousin from CA said he wanted to drive. I told him no because he didn't know the area well but he insisted and I told him to be careful and not get us killed. I was in the backseat with my cousin from FL and my brother was sitting shotgun holding GPS directions from his phone to aid my cousin who was driving.

We get over the George Washington Bridge and I was super tired so I dozed off next to my already sleeping cousin. I wake up and the car is spinning out in the middle of the highway and we slam into a utility pole. Thankfully the airbags didn't deply (I don't know how) and we landed towards the shoulder of the highway and not the middle. I found out that this IDIOT cousin of mines wanted to scare me and my sleeping cousin in the back by swerving in and out of lanes. He lost control like the jackass he is and sent us spinning on a major highway.

Here are some pics:

You can see the indent from the utility pole:

After the accident we all got out of the car and I went to turn the hazards on from the passenger side since I didn't want to get hit by a car. As I open the passenger door to stick my body in the door swung back at me like a spring and hit me in the face hard as hell. I was dazed for a good minute wondering what just happened. In short, I suffered a concussion and minor brain injury and to this day I still get migraines and headaches at least once a week since the accident (Dec 22).

Here's a pic of the passenger side damage that cause the door to swing back at me:

My cousin owes me 5K and that's being nice. He has yet to pay me a dime and I'm currently fighting with him to pay me and be responsible for his stupidity. I'm this close to flying up there and kicking his ***. At the time of the accident I was more happy that we were all safe because it could have been a bad holiday for my family.

That's a little backstory to this all. The car was declared a total loss and the amount of damage exceeded $15000 in parts. The drivetrain was destroyed. The car couldn't go into gear or move. Their was frame damage to the car but the motor was intact.
