My boys got a 94 civic ex d16z6 automatic... his motors knockig prety bad so he picked up a d16y5 (HX) MOTOR...this weekend he wants to pull the motor out and swap the d16 block in and leave the z6 head on it...im helping him do this sincw hes not really familiar with civic so my question is... will this just bolt right up since that block is already a vtec block.?? i kno he gonna need new head gasket and timing belt but just wann make sure its qorth ripping the motor apart and trting this... and feedback is appreciated

Yes the block will work, Swap the waterpipe that runs along the back of the block for the Z6 version.
