Default F/S 1987 CRX Si $4000 OBO

I am posting this for a friend of mine in the area- this is a great find.. Here is his write-up and pics... Hit me up if you want his number to have a look! nice CRX.

1987 Honda civic CRX Si
For sale $4000 or best offer

I am selling my 1987 CRX
One owner
Red
212k miles
NO RUST NO RUST NO RUST (not even a little bit)
5-speed manual transmission
D15 PGM-FI motor
Religiously maintained
No issues (no ticks, knocks, taps, grinds, squeals, whines, or any other funny noise a car could possibly make)
Starts right up every time
Clutch recently replaced
0 miles on new plugs/wires.
New tires only a few thousand miles ago
Has never seen salt/snow, barely ever a rainy day, and it shows.

I have done my best to be as critical as possible of this vehicle when describing it:
Paint is only oxidized on roof, with only a small amount of de-lamination beginning at the top edge of passenger door.
Recaro seats; driver seat vinyl has split near piping by door.
Driver-side rear fender has 1 small dent near edge at top of wheel-arch.
Driver-side front corner has suffered a light hit although you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at it. The metal dog-ear which supports the plastic bumper cover is slightly abnormal when looking closely from underneath.
Driver-side front fender has a small crack at the top edge (a new complete fender will be included in the sale).
Driver-side carpet has been patched/re-covered in heel area; looks pretty good, you have to look closely to notice.
Small crack in side skirt on passenger-side, near front wheel.
One exhaust outlet tip has come off.

Power moon roof works excellent
Windows work perfectly
Shocks are all in good shape
4-hole Si wheels are immaculate (no dents, dings, rash, warp), with the center caps slightly sun-faded (for additional $ I will include 4 near-mint center caps).
So clean underneath you could eat off of it.
New brake pads.
Stock spoiler is in excellent condition.
Pinch/jack points are perfect.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this car; no issues whatsoever.
Hop in and drive it home.!
I have a small collection of good 1gen CRX parts available as well from a couple of other Rex's I've owned.

I will consider partial trades of Honda/Acura vehicles, related parts, etc. I am interested in clean EF hatch/sedan, EK hatch, DA or DC coupe, and complete (or near-complete) swap setups; such as: B,H, or K-series.
Thank you and good luck.

This is the cleanest example of a 1st-gen CRX that you will ever find.

I used to have a 1st gen Rex. Man are those things built like tanks and so much fun to drive! Mine ended up with a top fuel carb (thanks to a RPR write-up), 3" suspension lift, skid plate, Steel quarter windows and 'nam era m1 Abrams replica camouflage (thanks to photoshop for the draft/layout on that one). Mine actually was a sort of tank...

Cant see the $5000 your asking. Like it but price is a bit high. Ive been looking for a 3rd gen civic HB SI to my liking, but whenever I see a 1st gen rex I always consider it. I think if this were a civic si hatchback in this condition you might get close to what your asking. And I understand these are rare, in my opinion to find a 3rd gen Si in this kind of condition is even more rare. Been looking for close to a year. But I wont just settle on any, Im picky. By the way did you happen to see the Black 85 Si CRX on Ebay about two months ago? It sold for
$4200. That is especially rare in that condition Black/Grey bottom, red stripe combo.... What a CRX. Not really trying to put this crx down, its nice just not 5 g's nice. GLWS

Lsvtec kinda putting it down... Not 5 g's nice? It could be parted out for more than that... Kinda looks like this guy is doing the Honda community a favor by offering a whole, unmolested Si for any price; instead of butchering it for greater profit. Of all the acronyms used on the internet today; "OBO"dates back probably centuries, derived from the term "or best offer", a humble phrase representing a sellers particular interest in accepting perhaps less than the preceding numerical value. This is where I make some sheepish comment, partially excusing myself for being snyde...

It could be parted out for more than that... LOLOL
Um yea OK Ive had several of these. Also parted one out that was almost as descent as this one. Some common things that happen to these 1st gen crx's.
Seat tore up CHECK, faded paint CHECK, cracked plastics CHECK. I can see in the pictures that it has light accident damage to the drivers front. It also has 212K
miles. I love these cars, just realistically nobody will pay 5 LARGE for a 26 year old crx with 212K on the clock. Best thing its got going for it is NO RUST. Maybe he doesnt really want to sell it. Actually when I first saw the $5000 dollar title I expected a B16 in it. lol

Ok, the owner has said he'd take $4000 for this one, and requested I update the thread. Any takers?
