Dude you are having some SERIOUS problems with this tbelt situation..how and why..
I see you still have those ebay cam gears on there
.. is this happening constantly? how tight is your tbelt cold?

T belt is able to turn 1/4 way cold taught when hot 190-200 F , never loose to where she flaps, never tight to wear it hummms....ebay cam gears i dont think it s the issue but getting changed.. the teeth on both belts are in great condition..not for nothing but my test belt on the motor now that has ran my motor between other two failing. JUST till toda arrives is a 98 type R original HONDA belt 90,xxx miles and old handmedown that is not doing this. Has honda gone down on belt quality..:-(

I could see if the teeth were sharp it would cut the teeth off the belt or maybe cause damage to the inside. Why are the teeth not affected or damaged? the belts splits from the backing!
I run extra tension on the belt with Toda cams.
How tight did you tension it?
This may sound silly, but check the bottom belt guide and make sure it's not backwards.
Also check to see if there's any debris down in that area by the crank teeth.
Do you run the oe plastics / belt covers?

Forget that Blue belt, usual problem. TODA belts should last long even with the wildest cams (that is my 1st hand experience).

OEM plastics have been in place..first with the gates belt..ran the oem belt with just the middle top cover gone to keep and eye out for this problem..Gold washers were facing outwards since day one... Thank you koczeka...
I hope TODA and Gates get their materials from different sides of the world?! Seems like they both use that high grade kevlar **** :/ ..If this toda belt fails.. with all the new parts..I am trading this for a K series lol.
MAIN FOCUS IS TO HEAR SIMILAR STORIES OF THIS BELT FAILURE.. >>thanks to all for chiming in

Could u make a closeup picture from the back of the belt ?
would be very intresting.
u should be fine with the OEM one normaly no problem with the toda B's.
if the belt fails at 30 000 miles, i would say ok but not evry 1000 miles.
i bet even the toda belt will fail pretty soon maybe 500 miles later then the other ones.
if i was you i would double check the water pump and the tensioner bearing!
and check the cam caps for signs of seizure on the cams.

could the fact that your cam gears do not seem to be matching tooth for tooth in rotation have anything to do with it? Just noticed that the gears seem to be off by half a tooth. This would explain why stretching is occurring, which is resulting in tooth layer of belt being stretched and top later still maintaining its shape.
that was it on the side of the highway! after it jumped timing lol yeahhh thats why it is teeth off i can send pics of the back ..they look beat as well ..@Aronej
******** also What would cause TDC to look as it does besides the intake off 3 teeth.. everytime i have done the belt its never true tdc for intake or exhaust.
They dont need to have sharp edges on them, the teeth on the cam gears are the wrong profile for the timing belts. And with TODA cams you should not be running OEM bolts to hold the gears on to the cams TODA cams have there own bolts.
If possible check the bearings on the tensioner. It could be possible that it seizes up when getting hot. The marks on the back of the blue belt shows the same sings of the tensioner standing still while engine is runnig.
THANK YOU GUYS FOR CHIMING IN! I REALLY APPRICIATE YOUR INPUT. THIS HAS BEEN SOO FUSTRATING.. PICKING UP SOME BDL INDUSTRY CAM GEARS TODAY AND ON FINDING THAT BOLT
You need to double check everything that the belt runs over (and against). The back of those belts (the Gates in particular) looks like hell. I agree it could be a tensioner issue as the back of the belt runs over it. I'm assuming you aren't running anything else like the Vibrant t-belt tensioner or anything else out of the ordinary. It's hard to tell which happened first, but some of those belt edges don't look all that great either. A possibility is that the belt is rubbing on the edge on something, which is creating friction and starting a tear from the edge and causing the belt to separate.
Is that the T247RB belt?
I just put the same one on.

I've shredded a Toda belt too though...

My money is on the tensioner, ive ran b's and c's with no problems.
Ive had skunkworks gears and golden eagles.
Id get a new tensioner and waterpump since your right at it.

Update: Toda belt with new everything AEM GEARS,Honda T belt Tensioner, water pump. Belt Looks good and is holding up,smells like a new pair of shoes out the box. Lmao..umm i can only say this after 200 miles maybe.. Tranny locked in 5th gear:/ broken selector parked again.. called syncrotech..goodies on the way! Well now after starting her from sittin the LMA's are going out sounds like Tip Tap from the head like a valve spring gunna shoot out car warms up it goes away...wonder if bad LMA is causing this (belt crazyness)..? it's a 96 R head..i think its overdue for some new LMA Honda did make a new style..In addition belt is tight in all spots when i rotate motor by hand.Upon startup belt goes crazy slap slap lol super belt flap till its warmed up.. then all is in order and the belt stops flapping... I AM ABOUT TO sat THE K Word LOL.... this build isn't even that serious..lol it just seems like one problem after another..
Well assuming that both lower timing guide washers were faced with the bevel away from the timing belt I would say your issue was definitely from the cam gears or tensioner. But when a tensioner locks up it usually smokes the outside of the belt much worse than your pics show. So i'm going to chock your problem up to the Ebay cam gears. Check out scienceofspeed dot com for the LMA's.
