has anyone else had trouble out of there 2001 honda civic transmission and do you know what other modeltransmission will work

 

You'll want to be specific as to what type of transmission you're looking for (manual or automatic), but in any case... this is a common problem and there are quite a few threads on the topic. Feel free to search and locate the answers you're looking for.

 

My money's on the transmission being an automatic.


Yes, they're notoriously problematic. The manual transmission have their issue(s) as well, though.

 

The automatic transmission in my 01 civic ex finally kicked the bucket this week and I am looking for any options I may have for fixing it as well.

 

I swear these transmissions are the plague. I had just rebuilt mine and it finally moves but after a half a mile it acts like its in neutral and if you turn it off for 3 seconds and start it up it moves again for a good distance and then repeats. If you wanna go for something that is not gonna make you want to pull your hair out buy a rebuilt with a warranty

 

The car even shifts like a pro until it goes for a bit...
