Default Emblem opinion

I've had both of my emblems stolen off of my car since i got it two months ago. i was wondering whether those cheesy cheap imitation red "H"'s and "A"'s are even worth it. They'll probably get stolen again and don't want to fork out the cash to shave them and I don't want to keep plunking down $50/emblem. I guess what I'm asking is if those cheap emblems are close enough to stock so that people won't always ask me why i have cheap imitation emblems on instead of the high quality expensive stock ones. What's your opinion?

You should be able to tell the diff. Mostly when the daylight hit'em. Just shave them and forget about the problem....and also keep it stealth, you know

just put some stock OEM Honda "H" emblems on. IMO i would just leave it chrome, but smoked is nice as well.

i jus say that you have a CW ITR ...well ...the smoked emblems will look good ...but you need to have the Gun metal ITR rims ....some smoked clears ....for it to look right .....

the OEM "H" is still $50 an emblem, and those'll probably disappear faster than the "A"'s. that's what i was going to do in the first place, but it seems like it'll be pretty expensive in the long run. but just to make sure because i've never paid too much attention, those imitation "H" emblems are pretty stupid looking, right?

$50 for the chrome H emblems found on almost every freakin Honda vehicle made??!!?!?! ... i doubt that, but if it is ... hey you gotta pay the piper. There will always be the risk of theft.

then buy them off somebody ....i found my h's on H-t .....and i see plenty at the junkyard...i got the "honda" nameplate off my 81 civic in the backyard ....dont spend alot on them .....

i made sure not to spend alot due to the fact they can easily be stolen .....so its easily replacable ....i'd rather them steal some cheap h's ...than my pretty OEM Red A's

my mistake.. when i was saying OEM "H", i was meaning the OEM ITR "H", the red ones, not the silver ones.

so it looks like the general consensus is to either get the stock silver "H" emblems or shave them off?

Go to http://www.ahmotor.com and order the front H emblem for an Insight. They'll ask you what color your Insight is, just tell them red. The front H emblem on the Insight is solid (similar to the JDM ITR red emblems, but much thinner). If the color of the Insight is red, the front emblem is red; if the car is silver, the emblem is silver; etc.... I got them for about $27 a piece. Yeah...they still cost more than the cheap one, but the quality is top notch. I've had several pairs of the cheap red emblems before I went with the Insight emblems. Couple of them were stolen, but most of them were taken off because of poor quality. They were either the middle part was falling off or the red pigment was flaking.

Here are couple pics of my car with the Insight emblems on.

Close-up pics of the emblem:

You can get the hi-res version of these pics by adding .orig.jpg to the end of the links.

those are off the insight!!! i'm all over that. at that price i can afford to replace them again and again if i have to. alot cheaper than shaving, and they look really good on your car.

No tabs or prongs on the back side of the Insight emblems. Just 3M tape.
