Default Inline pumps -- who makes them and how loud are they?

Hi All:

I'm looking to do a fuel pump upgrade on my 87 CRX Si. They don't (as far as I know) make any aftermarket pumps that will fit in place of the stock pump. So, I guess my option is to go inline.

I had a Walbro GSS-342 with my old Civic and I found that thing annoyingly loud. How loud are inline pumps in comparison? My Civic was a daily driver, so the pump's whine got old. The CRX is not, so I guess I could live with a loud pump.

Who makes them? I see Aeromotive a lot...is that the same brand that comes with the Drag 3 kit?

Thanks,
Sonny

MSD makes one, it sounds like a coffee grinder or maybe a cake mixer. Not as loud as a blender. But audible.

When I had my airtex mounted on my firewall it was very loud in the cabin so later I clamped it onto the ac line like the instructions said. Its not that loud anymore.

Cool, guys...thanks for the responses.

Is the Airtex pump the one that comes in the Drag 3 kit?

Yes, the airtex is what comes w/ drag3 kits.

When I had mine attached to my ac lines it was barely audible. At idle you can hear it hum slightly, but once you get going road noise, engine noise drowns it out totally.

Sonny,

I have a Bosch Inline pump that's never been used sitting in my room. It's brand new. If you're interested let me know. Just gimme an PM.
