Removed my Carpet, Now What?
Short Version:
I have removed my car's interior and other than general cleaning was wondering if there is something else I should consider taking care of while I have it all apart?
Long Version:
I have a 94 Honda Accord. I had a fair amount of antifreeze leak into the interior of my car and saturate the carpet for 3 days before I notced it. I tried diluting it with water and decided that was not going to work well enough, plus I dont like the idea of having water rotting out the floorboard of my Accord which is in pristine condition for it's age.
With the help of this forum I removed my seats, trim, center console and finally my carpet last night. Thank you for all the info.
I have rinsed the coolant out of the carpet and am going to spot clean the entire interior while I have it out of the car.
My question once again is what else should I take care of while I have my interior stripped out?

Of course! Other than that I can't think of anything having this apart gives me access to that I can fix or replace right now but I'm not the most expierienced mechanic.

Ok. The whole dash has to come out to do the heater core. While everything is out you can do what i did. Cut a fuel pump access hole so that if you ever have to replace the pump you don't have to drop the tank. Just put a hinge or two on it to keep it covered and some foam rubber as a gasket.

All of the sound deadening material will also hold moisture and rot your floor. Time consuming to remove, if you don't like the idea of road noise you could pick up some dynamat or something along those lines.
