Which headlights to go with?
So I've been doing some homework on all the different types of headlight housings available for my eg hatch.
I like the look of the black housings but dont want them to fog up and I'd like city lights
The Jdm housings offer city lights but point the wrong direction I. E. Into oncoming traffic.
I would be okay with regular housings with city lights but it seems I can't have that without blinding other drivers.
I don't think I've seen any black housings with city lights either. I'm not even sure how that would look.
Anybody with any solutions or ideas?

OEM Stanley. JDM knockoffs (or "OEM equivalent" garbage") will have a horrible beam pattern. If you can find legitimate OEM JDM headlights with your city light sockets, go for it, but expect to pay a pretty penny for them. They can be adjusted to properly light the road.

OEM!!! You can adjust the JDM housing as mentioned!
NO ignore the last part about HID kit!!! The flutes in the stock housing cause horrible glare!! A retro- fit is the only way to go when it comes to HID's. I am using Denji housings for my retro fit.

Agreed. I know enough to not get a hid kit. I've read enough bad things about them and I want this car with proper parts. I'll do an hid kit one day when I have the cash. For now I'll go with the oem Jdm and adjust them. I'd rather have city lights than black housings (which I like) but cloudy lenses.
I'll forgo the idea of retrofits since the oem Jdm lenses aren't clear.
Thanks for the help people.

Should he want to stay stock, then I recommend a glass lens. I should also add that EDM headlights have a superior beam pattern to North American design, which might negate the desire to do an HID retrofit altogether.
Paired with a top-market H4 bulb like the Philips XtremeVision then he should see a big improvement.

OEM and if you do go HID please have a projector in front of the bulb. Looks hella rice when the HID lamp is just flooding all over the place. I run OEM with silver star ULTRA's. They shine close to white so long as you have clear non oxidized housings.
