H22A with gas and spark but won't start
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is what happened my friend switched my valve cover but forgot to put on the seals for the spark plugs. My car died and upon inspection all spark plugs were covered in oil. So I changed all the plugs and now the car won't start. I tested for spark and that checked out okay. And when I checked the spark plugs they smell like fuel. For some reason it's not igniting. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks in advanced
u sure u have the spark plug wires in the right position on the distributer... i would assume that would be easy mistake
yea I believe I have them in the right order. Bottom left 1, Bottom right 2, Top left 3, Top right 4. Any other suggestions.
oh change those plugs. oil is not good on plugs. i did this i used a starter botton do to my valve cleanrance and then it woldnt start. pulled plugs they were flooded with fuel. changed them and it crankded right up..
Just an update: STILLL NO START. I replaced all the spark plugs again with brand new ones, and changed the wires. For kicks I replaced the distributor but nothing helped. When I crank it everything works, just no start. I checked the plugs and they still look brand spanking new but smell like gas. So I know gas is getting there and I checked for spark and it's sparking all fine. Please someone help a brother out. Thanks

Did you make sure that no oil got on your timing belt? Check your timing to make sure it isn't off. Did Oil get anywhere else other than on the old spark plugs? How long where you driving it with out those seals?
Hey, did you check the air in the front tires too?.. Because you know if there isn't enough air pressure in them, fuel can't get to the fuel pump..
Come on guys.. After reading all of the replies, it seems like everyone shooting in the dark only. Why don't we start with analytical thinking..
Turn key to START
.... You said that everything works but it won't crank over...
........ I say I need more info than that.. When you turn the key to START is there a click?...
There's a CLICK...
.... Check for weak battery..
.... The click is from the Starter Solenoid..
.... Check for dirty connections..
When all this is done, let me know.. That is if you haven't figured out the problem yet..

Ok wait so the area around the spark plug was filled with oil...you blew it out with an air compressor didn't you? or did you take out the plugs and let all the oil drain into the cylinder??? If so A ton of oil in your cylinders would make it pretty damn tough to start
