My All Motor EM1 Build
Figured Since I've been on this forum for such a long time, I'd might as well start sharing some of hard work with the rest of the Honda Fanatics.
Also, seeing my Buddy's build thread on here motivated me to get mine up as well.
So I always been a Honda Fanatic since my first EG. I've had my fair share of builds & attempted build but this is by far my proudest.
It started out with me looking for a B20 short block & a SiR head.
I was intent on a B20Vtec since I'd had one of these before.
A buddy of mine had a whole host of parts along with a prepped short block & GSR head. All that was left was to assemble. I asked him to assemble the motor & have it tuned whilst I prepped my EM1.
MY EM1 was a single owner 2000 EM1 with dealer service history & 160 000kms.
Not a single mod...not even the radio
The day I picked it up...

Seems the engine bay was never washed....Ever!
Before

After

By now I'd accumulated a whole host of parts for this build but needed to pace myself. Figured I'd prioritise stuff & decided to go with mechanical stuff first & cosmetics later.
I started by pulling the B16 motor.
All ready to start work.

Motor out & ready for the new heart

@ HNL....
It made 196Hp on pump gas on a pretty harsh dyno.
Hoping to get some good gains with better gas & Kenny (Turbogixxer) in May.
@Brice.
I hang my head in shame...lol
My new wheels are being shipped as we speak. I'll be sure to update the thread when they arrive.

Did you get a full tune and end up with those numbers, or did you have a problem and have to stop? Was it tuned on the TWMs or the Edlebrock piece? Car looks great!
Participated in some "retail therapy" as the ladies would call it.
Hahaha
IPG Catchcan

Since this catchcan goes in place of the battery, the battery needed to be relocated.
As a result, I picked this up

Russell Brakelines

Since I'm running ITB's without any form of cold air feed, I figured i'd try keep engine bay temps down by wrapping the header

A small addition to the interior

Since the OEM "Civic" badge is weathered, I picked up a replacement

Now that the weathers warming up, I managed to get in the garage & put in a few hours work.
The aim this past Sat was to install the full sized Radiator & an Oil cooler.
To begin with, the Oil cooler was unsuccessful since it could not mate to my block where the oil filter fits. The thread pattern was different so I'm currently doing a bit of research there.
The radiator install was easier than expected however, I'm not entirely satisfied with the install.
The radiator is for Civic application & when i centralize the radiator, the upper hose has a kink in it.
To avoid this, I positioned the Rad more toward the left.
As i said, It isn't a pretty installed but when i figure out what upper hose to use, I'll reposition the Radiator.
You can tell from the pic, I did not make any additional holes so when i move the radiator, it'll be an easy fix with no permanent scars left behind
Sidenote: Plan for the upcoming weekend is to relocate the battery to the trunk, Install the catch can & wrap the header with heatwrap.
I'll keep you guys posted.

Thanks buddy.
Cant wait to get them on.
Finally got my Toyo R-Program number today so I can now buy my tires
On the topic of my Radiator & oil cooler.
I've managed to source another oil cooler so I'll be picking that baby up in 2weeks, along with my tires & a few other bits n bobs.
I've also figured out the radiator kinked hose issue.
Its cos i'm using a regular B16 hose with a GSR head.
I'll simply pickup a GSR upper Rad hose, then reinstall the radiator....this time, the RIGHT way-lol
Seems I have my work cut out for me this weekend, but no wories....I'll keep this thread updated for sure.
