Icon6 B18C1 Poor Mans Build

Got this motor off of Ebay for a sweet deal now its time to go to work fully rebuilt. My goal is to get her all torn down and put back together from the ground up. Final goal it to put it into a EK chassis but for now all I got is the motor and a low budjet.

did it come with dizzyand fuel rail/injectors
looks really really worn out like its been in some very crappy cars and got sold when all the juice was squeezed out of it.

900 bucks is not a very good deal for this condition

dizzy 100, fuel rail another 50 bucks
vtec was spliced in looks like it might be from another engine also

missing hoses
missing sensors on intake manifold
missing timing belt cover
wrong engine mount on driver side( b series integra all have 3 point mount on driver side, so it was in a civic last which have a 2 point mount)
all add up to dollars here and there

check the valve train before its too late to file a claim in case theres some serious damage that he didnt say.

if you gonna rebuild it then take everything apart to make sure the cylinders are not craked, crank is not seized or scored
valves are not bent and vale guides are in good shape etc.

yea all greats points ... Pretty much all that's missing off of it in sure I have in my storage closet I got over a 100 parts just sitting ... But ur right im fearing the worst with this one I've rebuilt a few motors b4 and this one is a lol bit worst than I expected ... But hey ... The dizzy I'm sure I don't have and the I a few other lil things but that's for pointing out abt a cracked cylinder never thought of such severe work ... The solenoid does look like its off an H22 9or something ... But it spins free so I'm keeping my fingers crossed .... Stay Tuned ..........

take the head off and take oil pan off with those parts separate you will see if theres major damage.

look into exhaust ports with flashlight. do valves look like mushrooms with alot of buildup on them?

do you have the ebay auction link?

i certainly know first hand from going after the CHEAPEST priced parts they usually cost you about same if not more than buying good parts first time.

this engine is worth maybe 800 dollars tops

i'd be feeling pretty nervious if i had bought that. but Raverx3m im sure 150-200 of the 900(if not more) was shipping but still i'd pay 500 tops. good thing with e-bay is it does favor buyers (i do a lot of selling on there) so if it is a dud you'll most likley be able to recover you'r loss.
x2 on the acuction link pls.

its so rusty i cant tell if theres another hole on the engine mount behind those 2 studs.

but the plug wire might be just leaking seal on valve cover.
although it looks like it was there for loooong time.

waiting to see some pictures of the innards. at least pop the valve cover and take a picture for us lol i wanna see whats under

I'm going to do all kinda work tomorrow see what's up with this thing ... The water pump and the tensioner all spin free so it looks bad but it isn't too bad if it all spins I guess but all of that is going to go when I start rebuilding it ... Valve pan cover is the first to come off ... Look out for some more pics tomorrow guys

"This item is in perfect working condition." obviously, this is not true at all.. just by the missing parts, how can anyone make a bold claim like this? i would hit him up for ebay fraud.
http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...s=negative_180

read those comments.. i would never buy stuff from a person such as that.

Got the valve cover off dosent look to bad inside ... I broke off two ratchet’s either these things are on tight or I got some cheap a$$ equipment. Hard to get good tools when all u have is Auto Zone in town.

yea you need to get back to ebay seller and get some cash back.
thats a full rebuild looks like.thats gonna cost you armandaleg.

he lied alot. and usually you see this condition in a beat up 92 integra or early 90s hatch when the owner thinks hes a real racer and smashes on every car next to him but then cant afford an oil change.

there are 2 types of engines i would buy
1 its all dusty and looks like it hasnt been touched since assembled from factory.
2 its been worked on alot but you can eat off it and thres no grease anywhere.

this one looks like he tried but baller on the budget and gave up.
