Default ABS light

I'm new to driving my manual and if I stall, the ABS light comes on. Till then it stays off. It doesn't alter the driving though. Curious as to what I should do about the light coming on or is it normal?

The light should also be on after 3-5 sec of initial startup, then turn off. Does it turn off after you restart from stall after a few seconds?

Nope, if I die and then restart the light will stay on. But if I come back to the car and crank it on after a few hours of being off, the light will be off unless I stall again.

Uh-oh mine does what I described to you. Houston, we have a problem... a lot of people bypass the abs system instead of replacing module. That's what I'm doing when mine starts going bad. I admit I dunno that much about abs so hopefully someone else points you in the right direction. I know dirty fluid will wreak havoc on entire braking system, especially abs module and calipers. Did you replace a wheel bearing or axle lately? The sensors are on each wheel make sure they're not dirty either or cable to/from sensors can get damaged also.

The car actually doesn't have any driving/breaking problems though. I recently bought the car so I'm unsure if the previous owner did any work prior to the purchase. It's really odd. The light comes on but I feel no difference with breaking.

How dirty is fluid? I would try bleeding entire breaking system including abs module if fluid is dark. There's a bleeder on side of abs module, make sure to check fluid level FREQUENTLY when bleeding, you don't want air in any part of system. Take a good look @ sensors/cable to them. Clean sensors w/brake clean and rag if needed

MM&Y of car would help.

Scan for ABS codes.

I agree with S2BumpsticksGSR replace the brake fluid, because it is ABS, I would have a shop do it, flush/replace/bleed.

Old brake fluid is bad on brake systems, very bad for ABS brake systems, if you do not know for sure the fluid has been replaced within the last 3 years, take it to a shop and have it done. 94
