Default RoRo's 92 Si hatch - "Goddess" - Canada

Hey Honda Tech!

My names RoRo and im a hardcore honda enthusiast, i only bought my first honda 3 years ago and im hooked, i currently own 4 hondas

92 rs Integra

91 civic shuttle

94 cx hatchback

92 si hatchback

this car i bought of my best friend last year and basically saved the car from ever seeing the road or worse a junk yard. He bought the car 4 years ago as a complete running and clean car and this is what it looked like and a list of all the parts/work done when it was built in 2003 (before my friend bought it)

then about a month into owning it, he put all OEM body panels back on and took off all the body kit and spray painted it flat black, and gutted the entire interior, so it definatly took a step backwards, once winter hit he parked it and said hes doing a full rebuild on it and put it on jack stands, took all the suspension and exhaust off, parted out the hood, fenders, tail lights headlights and this is what it was left like until i decided to save the poor thing

EXTERIOR

* 140,000kms on the body
* flat black paint, with shaved side trim
* Viper alarm system
* tinted windows

INTERIOR

* Momo steering wheel with horn
* clarion cd player
* short shifter
* jdm sir white face cluster with 132XXX

ENGINE, MODS AND EXTRAS

*B16A DOHC VTEC, with 40,000kms
* vtec controller in the center console
* skunk 2 cat back exhaust
* koni red shocks
* eibach sportline springs
* center force dual friction clutch
* fedenza flywheel
* aem pulley kit
* front and back drilled and slotted rotors
* type r valve cover
* b&m fuel pressure regulator and fuel pressure gauge
* apex-i super vafc

FINALLY HER NEW HOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now just a heads up.....
ive had this car for just over a year now and the progress is so far from this its crazy, i have a build thread on another forum for this car and its over 40 pages long, so im going to nit pick pictures here and there to show progress up to its current point and all the parts i have accumulated for it too!

so im going to start with just these pictures and update every day until todays date!

hope you enjoy it

RoRo

First Night of work
So first thing is get it on jack stands, then to strip this car down as much as i can so of course start with the easy stuff, rear glass, sun roof and rear 1/4 windows

While taking the rear 1/4 window out i got a little too impatient and left 1inch of urethane holding it in and thought i could just pull it the rest of the way off.......

Fail and a half, but what is a build without a **** up!

I started on the suspension to take all the components off BUT unfortunately 1 bolt on the passenger side and 2 on the drivers side were so tight i couldnt get them out, so im going to have to wait till tomorrow when i can bring a torch home to heat them up, i managed also to get all the shock Assembly out except for the drivers front due to a rounded bolt. So i only had about an hour and gave up and took a nap

Once it is all off i can clean the wheel wells and paint them and take everything apart, get new bushings LCAs and breaks, along with sandblast and paint[/B]

i drilled out all the USDM seat brakcets[/B]

Then i took the rear bumper off

This window visor pissed me off from the second i laid eyes on this car when my friend bought it, it HAD to go

Took off the E break handle, steering wheel (which i put in my teg for now) all the dash switches and Cd player

Today i picked up my 'new' si doors and fenders, i traded some guy for my doors and fenders with the shaved side moldings

purchased some new stuff to motivate me

Bought EG6 tail lights

EG6 Climate control

Wink mirror

Nardi steering wheel (wanted one of these so bad)

I think i just need to find a ring to co over the horn button, if anyone is selling me one, i'll buy it!

^ Just a pic of all my stuff together with my EG6 plastic headlights and clear corners :D

this is after knocking all the bondo out of the mouldings (want even shaved correctly) and sanding the black paint off

JDM climate vs USDM

JDM vs USDM blower motors, i have to switch out the electronics(and on the heater core also)and then re install

heres my pappa hacking out my trailing arms

Here is a little DIY / unique combo i put together to be a little different (dont flame me if you have seen it before, i personally have not)

theres are all blue vinyl door panels i had in an old parts car civic i decided to save

So i drilled out the inserts

Then i cleaned them off with soap and water and a red scratch pad, then dried them off and gave them another good clean with glass cleaner and a micro fiber cloth and let them dry for 10 minutes

As you can see its more flat black than the oem look so i used this (i used this on my whole interior in the red hatch in the summer and to this day it is still as shiny)

Before(top) and After(bottom)

Both done

Installed the oem tweeters (just the actual tweeter its self, the door panels came with the housings)

and walllaaaahhhhh, all vinyl door panels with oem tweeters

Black carpet
Thin side moldings

So here is my rear trailing arms, front forks and rear break caliper brackets all a apart, sand blasted and painted, also ordered brand new ebreak cables from honda, next thing is clean the wheel wells and paint

and then I finished the passenger front

then finished the passenger rear

and stuck the wheels on for a quick teaser

I cannot express the level of satisfaction and I not I have right now, I'm sure those who have done a similar thing went through the same thing.

so excited right now

She is finally on the ground, and what is really weird is it was literally 1 year to the day i put it on the ground from when i put it up on jack stands

Gotta say that was one fugly POS beforehand. Looks like it's in good hands now. Thanks for saving another one of these beautes.

Who in the world would install speakers into those armrests? Gawd. Well, they come up for sale every once in a while so don't fret. I'm more concerned about your plan to paint all that grey interior plastics to be black. Only because painting rarely turns out well. You're almost better off getting a grey dash + door panels to match the rear. It will still look great! (Besides, JDM SiRs also came in grey interior, didn't they! Couldn't have been *that* bad!) But if you're stuck on black, just be patient and wait for a black JDM trunk box rear to pop up then swap it all out and over when the time comes.

Only three rusted suspension bolts? Come on! That's not even worth mentioning!!!!!

Nice project. Good luck!

Lazy. How long do you think it would have taken to do this right? Then it would look like this

I had a tap handle shifter in a 96 hatch, I would nail the dash when shifting into 1st, 3rd and 5th.

Thanks for the kind words guys

I'm 100% stuck on having a full black interior, I have grey so door panels and all I would need is a dash but them I'd be like every other sir converted car

As for the speakers in the Arm rests yeh that's a **** off I'm going to wrap them to cover it up

my trailing arms are not that shitty looking in person, you're do look a hell of a lot better, Im not lazy or cutting corners on my build what so ever
At least I sand blasted then first, most people would have just painted right over the rust
