what year motor is this a first or second gen b16a on the block it has b16a 402101 hm help please

 

the month and year is actually stamped on the head.

 

most likely its a 2nd generation, in other words the obd2a type b16a.. if it hasnt been swapped out.. another way to check, look where ur oil filter mounts on, if there is an oil cooler(coolant runs thru the oil before the oil filter), then its a 1st gen b16.. if it doesnt, its the 2nd gen.

 

Wondering why this question was answered before you bought the car.

Look for the stamps on the head and Google the numbers you find.

on the front side of the head. upper left side. on top near where the exhaust header manifold bolts in. you will find the month and year stamped in a lil circle.
if its a b16a that honda built in may 1990 it wil have 05/90 stamped in a circle.
cant remember if its month/year. or year/month.
