Best EJ8 exhaust system
I currently have a 98 ex. I am debating between Magnaflow catback system or a Skunk2 one. Any suggestions? Which sounds better and is there any major difference in performance
What do you mean by "best"?
What do you mean by "sounds better"?
There is nothing performance related with a catback on a stock 100whp single cam. Difference would be sound...
Do yourself a favor and go on youtube and search for sound clips and make a decision on your own.
What I or anyone else on here likes, you may not and vise versa.

as everyone else said, on a pretty stock motor, an exhaust won't do much..but if you want sound, just look them up on youtube for sound clips and save yourself the money and just buy the axleback/universal muffler instead of whole catback thinking it will actually make your honda quicker

Im just getting my car back it has a stock y8 in it so basically running stock a catback system will do nothing performance wise? im kind of new at this so forgive the dumb questions. Wut about headers? For someone who is on a budget which is a good brand that will give me atleast a good significant amount of performance for a good price?
not to be mean but are you not reading what people are saying? a stock y8 (which is what i have) will show little to no performance gains with any exhaust modifications, unless you turbo the motor. the only reason to get an aftermarket exhaust is to waste money or to have a different sound. go on youtube, search civic exhaust, choose the one you like the most, but save yourself some money for a turbo or a swap and get an axle-back or a universal muffler. personally, i like the apexi ws2 exhaust but good luck finding the axle-back.
So please tell me what you think a HEADER is going to do? Im genuinely curious.
The only "bolt ons" that will make the car any quicker would come from forced induction.

Sure you will. I know you gotta dream big.
You won't feel any of the "power" that you think you'll be getting. But I see you're hard-headed and are going to do all of this anyway. Knock yourself out. We've all gone down this road when we didn't know any better and found out fast that no amount of bolt-ons short of a turbo will make your car faster. I remember after I did all that crap, I/H/E, and an old CRV left me at a light.
But hey. It's your money to waste.

well wut the hell u think im askin for? im tryna get advice from people who have experience. if u think is wasted money awrite thas u personal opinion. Why get a civic then if ur gonna just leave it all stock?
Why buy a Civic if you want to go fast? If you can't afford to play then don't expect miracles. Just trying to tell you so you don't waste time and money. Save up for a turbo and read up while you do. Otherwise just mod for appearance and be happy.
see now thas good advice. i feel wut u saying tho. now in terms of turbo ive heard an ebay turbo tuned rite can be good is it necessary when I can actually turbo it to buy one of those very expensive ones?
Ever heard the term "You get what you pay for"? If you wanna roll the dice and can afford to replace an engine if it blows then go right ahead and go the Ebay turbo route. I'm done trying to talk people out of it.
You get a Civic because it's cheap to own, cheap to work on, reliable, fuel-efficient, and kinda fun to drive compared to the snooze-boxes of comparable price. That's it.
You want a fast Honda? Get a Type-R Integra, a Prelude, an RSX Type-S, or a newer Si.
(Hell, go get an RDX, they're quicker than our cars by an ***-ton!)
Or if you're REALLY adventurous and have a load of money, go hunt down an NSX. At the very least you'll never be bored enough to continue to try convince us that a loud exhaust will make your little single slammer fast.
Good luck!
