GSR Skunk2 intake manifold throttle body gasket
Hi,
I am gathering parts for the installation of my new Skunk2 GSR Intake Manifold.
I bought the recommended parts that are required/optional as per your installation instructions.
Upper Type-R PCV hose
Lower Type-R PCV hose
Type-R throttle cable mouting bracket
Type-R throttle cable
Intake Manifold gasket
I also bought a new OEM Throttle body gasket. (16176-P30-004)
The problem with this gasket is that the diameter of the gasket is not the same as the diameter of the inner hole of the Intake Manifold.
The gasket could tear apart and get into the engine.
There is not enough room to try to cut and fit the gasket around the inner hole of the intake manifold.
As per instruction, the manifold is designed to accept the factory throttle body gasket.
There is 3 throttle body gasket that Honda sell for Integra.
16176-P2T-004 (All integra 96-01 with M/T except Type-R )
16176-P73-004 (Type-R)
16176-P30-004 (All integra 94-95 and Integra A/T 96-01)
I currently have 16176-P30-004

I contacted Skunk2 and I am waiting for an answer from them
I simply want to share this issue with this community
Which one would recommend based on experience?

so i take it you'r using the stock tb. Why not get a bigger TB i did when i installed my s2:im and i love it(went with the 70mm). the plenum opening on the s2 is bigger than then stock GSR tb (as far as i know). while you're at it get some longer hose for you'r colant lines to you'r IACV i had that problem. calibrate you'r tps when you'r done i forgot and and ran SUPER RICH.
Yes I would like to run the stock throttle body for now. I understand your explanation on the bigger throttle body but this is not my issue and i am not to this point yet.
so to clarify the problem is the gasket is to small for the plenum opening ?. from what i remenmber on the install instructions they said the GSR tb wouldn't work with the S2(double check for you'r self).but if so that could very well be why you'r having the issue. the gsr has the annoying im might want to get an ls intake while you'r at it my gsr intake hits the coolant res.
Factory GSR throttle body is fully compatible with Skunk2 Intake Manifold.
Yes. The gasket 16176-P30-004 is to small for the plenum opening as previously mentionned.

As already mentionned in the initial post:
There is not enough room to try to cut and fit the gasket around the inner hole of the intake manifold.
