help on removing valve cover and prepping it for spray..
took off the 5 bolts, seems like the cover wont budge, just use some elbow grease or am i missing a hidden bolt? also wires that are on the valve cover, just unplug where they are installed and put them on the side until i reinstall the valve cover? when i paint it? how would i go about prepping it? using high temp paint, should i use a wirebrush to take away grit and grim? use any sort of cleaning solution before spraying it. ANY previous knowledge or help is GREATLY appreciated.
I painted mine and I used Aircraft Remover to prep it. It takes everything away right down to bare metal. Great stuff. It will kill you though so be carefull! I got it at Wal*Mart.
there are bolts underneath the alternator cables.
Don't forget to grab a valve cover gasket and 4 spark plug gaskets for when you put it back on

When I took mine off there whas only the 5 bolts and on ground cable to the right of the alt wires. Yes you just take the wires off the alt and pull them to the side. I had to take a screw driver and pry mine up. Little bit of work to get it loose. But I only had the 5 Bolts and the one ground cable. That was on a 92H23.
