My R got dented by my friend last night! And now he is denying it. What to do....?
Sorry this is kinda long.
Ok my friend's birthday was yesterday and his g/f was throwing a surprise birthday party for him, hes 24 now. We both work together and we were at work on the closing shift that night. the store closed at 7pm.
i left just before he did. i did my usual check on the car for dents or anything missing and while i was in the parking lot taking off my car bar for the steering wheel and the autolock he comes and kicks my wheel and i was like so what its a wheel. I was inside the car when this happened. then he saw i didnt get mad at him kicking the wheel and then hits his hip pretty hard on the back quarter panel just above the wheel well on the passenger side. i was like wtf i heard a slight "thump, thump" like when metal bends in and then pops back out. but i was in a hurry to get to his appartment before he did so i left whithout checking. i then park at his apartment crooked and no one could park next to my passenger side. i was going to check then but again i was in a hurry to get to his apartment before he did.
We have a good time partying and then i go to leave and he walks me out at 11:30 pm. i pull out under a light and decide to check the place he hit my car and i find this:
by that time he already went back to his apartment. soo i repark go back knock on his door and tell him he put a dent in my car. he says"are you serious lets go look man! I'll pay for it. dont worry I will pay for it."
i go back put it under the light and show him he says he didnt even hit it that hard and he hit the car like 2 inches in front of were i say there is a dent. he said he couldnt see it but i know he could. so i said "are you saying you didn't dent it?" he said "i dont know" and tries to give some excuse so i said fine later. keep in mind he is pretty buzzed if not drunk. so i left.
I get home and spray some quick detailer on it and start to wipe it off with a towel and i could feel the dent bigtime. i call him and leave a voicemail that went like this
"i am pretty pissed right now, and i felt the dent while i was wiping that part with a towel. I will show it to you tomorrow at work while it is daylight outside and you will for sure see it. i dont know what to do but, whatever, i will show you tomorrow. later."
He calls me back and says this **** to me....
"I will give you the ******* money but dont ever talk to me again *******. you value that car more then our friendship and your g/f. you are an ******* and i will give you the money but i dont ever wanna talk to you again." and then he hangs up not even giving me a chance to talk. i dont know if he was still drunk or not?
At no time did i ever ask him for money......
i would just think he would be man enough and him being my friend would give me the money no questions asked....but whatever i will leave the decision up to him..i never asked him for money.
what the hell should i do now?
He knows that i am very very **** about my car that is why he did that **** so he would scare me. and look what happens he dents it by accident. oh yea and there are two small dents right around that area that were never there before either

That guy's got issues. Normal people don't intentionally dent others' cars, they don't deny doing things they did, and they don't try to place the blame on others when they screw up. He is trying to turn this around on you, but you did NOTHING wrong. He needs to own up to his actions.

Show him again when he's sober. If he doesn't pay take him to small claims court. Advice him that you are going to do this and give him the option to pay for it. I would recommend dent wizard.
seriously not cool, if he acts like that I wouldn't talk to him anymore.
i hate people who dont understand what our cars mean to us

if he was ur true friend, he would admitt to what he did. if he doesnt then id get a new friend because true friends dont lie to one another

he's not a friend.
my friend/roomie from college dented my car.. i didn't notice it till a few days later... but i was pretty sure it was him (dents on the four corners of my car above the shocks)... he was pressing down on each corner earlier in the week to see how stiff the car was
anyway, it was pretty obvious, and he didn't complain or anything. he gave me the cash to fix it at dent pro..done and taken care of!

1 go out and buy a samuri sword
2 learn how to use it
3 go to his house
4 open up a can of whoop-*** on him with the sword
5 spit on him and call him a bitch then walk away
Works everytime

He needs his *** kicked.
Put the same size dent on his face. Anyone kick or bump my car in my presence is dead on the spot. That car cost me alot of money for some ******* to disrespect it.

Do what I recommended. The same thing happened to me where a friend threw a tennis ball at my car. It made a good size dent in the door. I told him he better pay, when he refused I took him to small claims court and won!!! He's no longer my friend, what an idiot
And i already showed him all the dents in my car before and told him these are the ones i have to get fixed. I would think i would know if there was three dents on my rear passenger side quater panel. when i checked my car before he came out they were not there. but when i checked after the party they were there. hmmmmm and what a coicidence it was the same place you hit my car with your hip and i heard it pop in and out. our friend jim was walking with him too and i am sure he saw it happen. and i am sure the camera in the parking lot saw me going around check my car get in and then him come and hit it there. i just hope they taped it just in case i need it for proof or something.
Can i just ask.....why the *** was he hitting your car? He's a loser BTW.
What everyone else has said, that dood made a mistake and should pay up for it. Painless Dent Removal is definately your friend!! You can try to get him to pay for it but I wouldn't waste too much time and energy on some ******* who cant admit to his mistakes....especially when the problem can be solved with $50-$75. Good luck!!
