B20 exhaust sound changes and power differences
Hey guys,
So I been fighting with this issue for about a year now.
My exhaust has a constant spitting/Rasp sound at Wide open throttle and above 4K.
(I have checked for exhaust leaks, I used Exhaust Gasket sealer on all connections, I have plugged the exhaust and looked for leaks I cant seem to find any)
Then at random times the Spitting/Raspy sound goes away the exhaust sounds very mellow and throaty and very well tuned and I can feel a difference in power above 4k.
The exhaust setup is 3" from collector to tip and has resonator and straight through 3 inch muffler.
I haven't been able to figure it out and wondered what you guys think, throw me what ever thoughts you have as it is driving me nuts.

What is your catalyser/resonator/muffler setup and diameter?
Usually when you remove the catalyser there is more raspiness, same thing for resonators. If you want to avoid raspiness add a second resonator, not a bigger muffler. On my old 92 b18a teg I have ran 2.5'' piping no cat, a vibrant resonator (great product), a 6'' long muffler shop resonator and magnaflow 2.5'' straight through oval muffler. It was so quiet it was barely any louder than stock, almost boring.
