2003 rsx-s vs 2005 rsx-s
Just the other week I had raced a friend of mine. It was a street race of course from a 2nd gear pull... He has an 05' rsx-s and I have an 03' rsx-s... He beeped three times and we took off.. At first I thought he had me beat because he had started about a few tenths of a second before me. After about 3-4 seconds I started to hawk his car. I then caught fully up when it was head to head at the front, i slowly, very slowly started to gain ground but it wasn't very noticable. My point or question so to speak is that I don't believe the 10 horsepower even matters, according to him there is other "things" that basically balance the car with an 02-04 to begin with...
Keep in mind both of our cars were completely cleared of anything in them, (tires were out, jacks, clothes, etc...). He has had his manual longer than I, he knows a little more than I when it comes to gears and all, and he is probably a better shifter... Just want to know if what he said was true about the horsepower thing? Or was it his excuse to basically losing.

i wouldnt think 10 bhp difference is a huge factor in this but how the car is driven or maybe another factor... ie weight, tires, aerodynamics, etc. still good to know though
Really, Their so many factors that could play a part. Weight, engine speed, Tires, clutch, drivers, engine temp., air temp., the list goes on. His clutch could of slipped or tires could of spun. The 10 hp makes a difference when doing bolt ons. As for stock to stock, the early models are faster, according to car and driver.

Yea I was thinking the same thing, untill I did more research on the matter. According to Car and Driving Magazine the 02-04 models are slightly faster than the 05-06 models.
