looking @ a 97 R today
Hey
im gonna go look at a 97 R today in CW, i know lots about the type r's and i know how to be smart to shop for a car, but i was just looking for some pointers when driving and and checking it out to see if it really is in good condition. are there any problem areas i should check? its only got 30k on the clock, its stock, female driven, and its only 17,000.

female driven ehh... well first u need to check the hotness factor of the female who drove it. then other H-T members will tell u what to look out for on the car
I dont think there is anything in particular you need to watch out for any differently than if you were buying any other used car. Just make sure you listen for noises(valves, tranny, etc), see if the car pulls left or right, check the tires for uneven wear, brakes, etc. Might wanna find out what kinda oil has been used on the car so far.
Female owner huh? heh, same situation as mine.
Make sure she's done all of the maintenance on the car, like frequent oil changes, and what not. Make sure all body panels are good, like if its been hit, repaired, etc... and check the vin against carfax just to be safe.

17k is pretty pricey for a 97 itr.
there was a 2000 going for $18000 locally here about a month ago.
i've seen plenty of 2000-2001 itr's going int he range of 20k.

I got my 98 froma female and couln't be any happier with the car
She was nearly as **** as I am. I remember going to shut the trunk when we were picking up the car and I placed my hands on the spoiler to close the hatch and she quickly stopped me, making sure I only close it from the hatch, as not to damage the spoiler
Haven't used the spoiler since. Good luck man.

Yeah, I don't ever close my trunk with the R spoiler, that's a big no no.. BUT, when I have to push start my R I use it like a shopping cart!
Don't lowball her, have her lowball you.
