ITR srs Momo steering wheel installation help
I'm having trouble installing this Momo steering wheel and I'm thinking I have to be doing something wrong. This is on a '00 Gsr and the wheel is a Jdm dc2 wheel.
The back of the wheel won't slide down all the way, as can be seen in the pic. There's a gap between the back of the wheel and the cable reel behind it. There is enough room for the nut to go on though. Is this right? The instructions I've read say it needs to go on all the way.
Also, as can be seen in the other pic, the reel has an arrow that supposedly needs to point up during install. Its an arrow pointing up and says TOP. But there are two long pins that stick out at 1 o'clock and 7 o'clock, I assume as a guide. The pins are diagonal, keeping the wheel from being straight during installation. The wheel must be angled to the right to go on around these pins which means the wheel isn't straight.
Anything helps!

No, I double checked. It was off a JDM dc2. You do want the SRS cable reel installed (if it's SRS momo) and I'm pretty sure it won't matter for either application which wheel it is; both are designed similarly.
So, I figured it out after a while. I hope this info helps others. The issue was the little, black plastic points (pins) right above the brass plate of the canceler. They stick out and were keeping the wheel from dropping down all the way.
I found the only major thread on installing this wheel and the instructions aren't that great; when it says the black pins break easily, that means you have to break them. Some, including myself, assume that means try not to break them. The wheel will not drop down around the column enough without these removed.
I used needle nose pliers and pinched them out of the way. After that, the wheel slid right down.

did breaking those pins affect anything? i am thinking about this swap, but not if something isn't going to work like oem afterward.
Im actually in the process of installing the steering wheel in my eg and the srs connector arent the same does anyone know how to splice the eg srs connector to the jdm dc2 srs connector
whatever you do make sure its right, you dont want it going off as soon as you add power.
Once I snipped those pins out of the way, it slid right on. Doesn't affect anything on the wheel.
Q: How do I hook up the black and red butt connectors? Where do they go? I know it's for the horn but I'm kinda confused how they are plugged in...
As for the SRS connector, you should find a diagram on each connector and identify the wires. It may be as simple as it's a different connector but same wiring routing. If it is, just splice on the connector you need.
