Hey Guys!

Im having a problem with my 07 civic si. The VSA light and the /!\ Traction control light are on.

I pulled the codes and they are as follows:

86-11 Fcan Communication with ecm/pcm
83-13 ECM/PCM relation failure.

I believe this light came with I short circuited a wire on accident (touched the grounding wire and the power wire) I check every fuse under my dash and under the hood but they all seem to be good.

Can anyone help me diagnose this problem? I couldnt find much info on those codes. I have a multimeter but not sure what needs to be tested or what/where the PCM or ECM is.

 

Throttle position sensor not working...take it to the dealer and get a price... when mine went out on me..twice... I was lucky enough that it was under warranty...I hear they aren't cheap...

It seems that they aren't connected to the VSA, but they are... I asked the techs when they did the work...

 

But doesn't the TPS Sensor have its own code?

 

not according to the mechanics at my Honda dealership... the syptoms you gave me were identical and both times it was the tps...

 

according to the dtc troubleshooting it needs either a pcm software update (available at a honda dealership) or a pcm

 

thats straight from hondas diagnostics (i work for honda)

 

what exactly is a pcm and where is it located?
