Default egr help!!

i have 98 accord ex, with a h22a in it... i bought it with the swap already done, now im just trying to fix their fuckups... ive been looking for ever and a day about egr wiring. the people who did the swap just cut the egr plug off the harness. in the schematic for the 2.3l it shows only 2 wires going to the egr... one from the ecu and the goes to the fuse box with most all other sensors.. im pretty positive that i have the h egr valve, and it has three prongs on it.. if someone has a pinout for where each of these three prongs go that would be sweet.. thanks for the time

Just me but the stock set up on a 98 4 cyl...the egr has more than 2 wires? Five pins (I think) on an OE EGR valve for the 98 4cyl.

What you can do is get an online manual from eautorepair.net or alldatadiy.com and you can look at wiring diagram and find out exactly what color of each wire goes to where at the ecu.

Be sure to look up "coupon code" for each site so you can save fifteen percent or so.

Maybe in your country but not in the USA, which requires smog checks.

Yeah, and I see at 8th gen civic forum people drive cat less exhaust, race header, tuning with hondata and for now see that problem is only at CA. EGR just back exhaust gas to intake manifold so engine can quicker reach operating temperature and sometime when is clogged egr will give you lot of pain . You need both schemes, for your car and owner of H22A engine so can make swap, some EGR use 2 wire, some 3 and some 5 but function is same. Maybe to try use your old EGR or make some sort adapter if can't be direct snap on your intake...

Sure, you can use that stuff in CA but if you get pulled over they will give you an expensive ticket AND it won't pass smog. Most people that run setups like that just drive them at the track in CA or are taking chances running them on the street.

In the morning I will check each wire and tell you which wire is for what.

You can google "honda obd2a pinouts" to find out which one goes to where at the ecu. I can google it, but you gotta do some work.

I would think that someone with an f23a could go out to their car and simply remove the connector...and check each wire for the reference volts wire..the signal wire and tell you which one it is. Unfortunately I don't have a 6th gen.

You can go to the hondata site to be sure you have an obd2a setup instead of an obd2b setup. Just compare the two with what you have in your car with your ecu connectors.
