My hatch is a Japan made 88 std, assembled in may of 88. did this body style have different fenders and hatches made than 89-91 (other than the doors and trim difference's in 90-91)? I have yet to find a fender that fits properly, the main fitment problem is at the bottom where it pokes back out and wraps around under the rocker panel. also, (stupidly) i replaced my lift gate with one from a 91 si because it has a wiper (necessary for the pnw where it rains 15 months out of the year) but used the 88 hinges, and i had to widen the bolt holes on the hinges to bolt the 91 lift gate on, and it doesn't line up well, the whole thing is higher than it should be about an 8th of an inch and i don't know how to adjust it lower, and it leaves a noticeable gap above the tail lights. i also have a 91 hood on my car and it seems like it isn't wide enough. i have a normal 8th inch gap on one side and a quarter inch gap on the other.

Possible accident? I'd imagine possible fitment issues more towards the front but not behind the front fenderwell by the rockers. Moar pics!
