Default Ect gauge in cluster not workin

Hey guys I just got a 2002 accord lx off. It had the engine swapped with the jdm h23a1. The ect gauge does not work and I don't know where the sensor is so that I can replace it with an external one? Any ideas?

The H23A1 uses the same style ECT sending unit that the original F23 used. The ECT sending unit is a single wire unit located under the distributor, mounted in the cylinder head. The wire may have disconnected, the connection or wire could be corroded or the gauge cluster could be faulty.

Just for clarification, the H23A1 is a USDM engine. The JDM engines only have 4 digits in the stamped engine code, H23A.

I thought the '02 used the PCM for the coolant temp gauge?

True, that we don't know. In stock set up the '00 and up use the PCM inputs for the coolant temp gauge.

Thanks for e quick replays. Sorry it took so long I had to make a new account but anyways I don't know what it is running but it is a single wire going to the ect sensor under the distributor. The previous owner wire tucked it with the rywire harness. The single wire going to the ect sending unit has no juice and I don't know why? It's also tuned on a hondata s300
