The interior light does not come on when I open either the driver or passanger door but does come on when the back seat doors are opened on my 2002 CRV

 

My 98 is having the same problem, the sensors on the door frame on the body of the car are going bad or dirty. I cleaned mine and lubed them up with electical grease and the are working better. The driver side still sticks every now and again but they are way better than before. Give it a try. The switches should ge in the door latch area on the body

 

The warning beeps for the headlights been on is not working and I've read a couple of comments on the door frame sensors...how did you get to the sensors to clean them?
