Icon6 Axxess ASWC stopped working after disconnecting battery

I recently connected an Axxess ASWC steering wheel control up to my Alpine CD-137BT and to my honda accord 2003 ex. I got it to work, all the steering wheel controls functional. It normally does a long pulse on the 4th light of the first sequence and a long pulse on the 7th pulse of the second sequence.

Then my battery terminal was disconnected and reconnected. The functions stopped working and the light didn't come on. I pressed and held the reset button for a few seconds and the light started again and the 2 sequences of lights began. Now the first light sequence didn't show any long pulses but the second sequence does have a long pulse on the 7th light.

I don't understand why the controls would work fine until the battery was disconnected and then stop detecting the honda wire on the 4th light of the first sequence. Do you have any suggestions for how to fix this?
